THE ANNUAL VILLAGE MEETING 2024

The 2024 Annual Village Meeting is scheduled for Friday 12th April. The relatively early date

is in keeping with last year’s annual village meeting.

The Annual Village Meeting is not a parish council meeting – it is a meeting of all the electors in the parish – but the parish council is required by law to provide the occasion for it, and proposes to do so in the usual sociable manner, with clubs and societies being invited to take a stall and/or give a presentation at the meeting, and residents being asked if there are any specific topics they want aired.

You and your organisation are warmly invited to take part, to have a display table, make a presentation, suggest topics for discussion, and/or send in a paragraph about your organisation for inclusion in the Annual Village Report 2024, which will be printed and distributed on the evening and will also be published on the parish council website. The choice is yours. This will be a social evening, and refreshments will be provided.

The Hall will open at 5.30 pm and there will be an hour for browsing before the meeting formally opens at 6.30 pm.

If you would like to speak a microphone will be provided for you and you will have a three minute time slot. You will also be welcome to send in a photo, graphic or letterhead which can be added to a PowerPoint presentation and will be shown on screen whilst you are giving your presentation (or we can just put up your name). Only one slide, please.

It is always helpful to know your plans early, but the deadline for sending in topics for discussion is Thursday 21st March. The deadline for sending in a written report to be included in the Annual Village Report is Monday 11th March, and the deadline for sending a graphic to accompany an oral presentation is Tuesday 2nd April.
