East Dean and Friston Art Group
The East Dean and Friston Art Group has existed for some forty years, originally meeting in the Farrer Hall before relocating to the Village Hall when that opened in 2000. The Group aims to bring together artists of all abilities, who share a love of painting and drawing, in any medium, to provide a forum for members to paint, to exchange skills, techniques, ideas and inspiration, and to enjoy the company of their fellow artists.
The Group meets weekly, from 9:30 to midday every Tuesday, from January to November, with meetings during the summer months being held out-doors, at a variety of venues, subject to favourable weather. During one meeting each month, outside of the summer season, guest tutors are invited to run tutorial workshops.
Membership of the Art Group is open to all-comers, subject to a ceiling of 50 members. Where applicable, priority for membership is given to residents of East Dean and Friston. The current annual subscription is £70.
Prospective new members should enclose their contact details in an envelope, addressed to the Secretary of the East Dean and Friston Art Group, which should be posted in the letter box at the Village Hall. A member of the Art Group will then make contact.
