Parish Council of East Dean & Friston

The Parish Council is responsible for a range of local services and provides an official voice for the residents of East Dean and Friston at higher levels of government.

COME AND JOIN US ON THE PARISH COUNCIL

We are looking for potential Councillors to join us in continuing to preserve the heritage of East Dean and Friston.

Whilst a background in Public Service would be appropriate, the majority of our Councillors have worked in diverse situations, both at home and abroad.

We recognise that if in order for our Council to remain fit for purpose in the future it is essential to attract new members, to help us introduce a mixed array of complementary skills for the future of our community that we serve.

As examples:

o We advise Wealden District Council on the suitability of Planning Applications in our Village.

o We ensure that Rights of Way are kept clear, that Village signs are appropriate.

o We provide and maintain facilities for Recreation, including the Childrens’ playground, the Cricket Pavilion and the annual Guy Fawkes Bonfire and Fireworks display.
