The Group was formed more than thirty years ago and met in the Farrer Hall until the new Village Hall was opened. The Group has been chiefly devoted to works on paper ie drawing, pastels, watercolour, acrylics etc. rather than works in oil. There are nowadays sessions under the guidance of a visiting tutor alternating with unsupervised periods.. We encourage members to follow their own particular interests making use of the help and guidance which is available.
We meet in the Village Hall on Tuesdays 9.30 - 12.30 between January - May and September - November. During the summer months we meet out-of -doors at a variety of venues. An important event is our Annual Exhibition held in the Village Hall on the May Bank Holiday which is usually well attended with visitors from many counties.
Membership is open to anyone interested, but priority must be given to East Dean and Friston residents. We also have to consider the space available in order to have convenient working conditions, and numbers must be such that tutors have a fair opportunity to help individuals.
